I was sent a box of Alibi Health Drinks by the lovely Alice to review. I have seen them on shop shelves before but for some reason always assumed that they were just another energy drink, full of sugar and nasties.
So I was pleasantly surprised when I took a read of the nutrition leaflet that was enclosed.
Alibi is a sparkling fruit juice blend which contains 19 essential vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts and has no added refined sugars. The only sugar is that which occurs naturally from the fruit. One can comes in at 99 kcals.
As someone who wakes up at 3am every now and then with a baby I am sometimes guilty of reaching for an espresso for an energy kick. However Alibi contains B vitamins which help fight fatigue, maintains energy and improves performance. So it is a fantastic alternative for me. And is also a good swap if you are someone who relies on energy drinks.
It also contains Milk Thistle which supports the liver, Dandelion Leaf for assisting body purification and Sarsaparilla which supports toxin elimination. Rumour has it that it’s ideal before and after consuming alcohol because of these ingredients, so another bonus, right? Alibi also contains extracts known to boost the immune system and aid stress/anxiety.
I was sent Blueberry, Pomegranate and Citrus to try. Blueberry was my favourite mainly because it is so hard to find a blueberry juice which isn’t from concentrate or full of refined sugars. I also love fizz so it’s good to enjoy a fizzy drink which is actually supporting my body’s needs.
You can buy Alibi from a range of stores including Health food stores, Ocado and Tesco.
