What To Include In A Homemade Letterbox Gift Set For Friends Or Family

With the closure of non-essential stores we have been forced to be a little bit creative when it comes to sending gifts to loved ones. One trend which has been popular has been letterbox gift sets. They are parcels filled with a range of goodies or products which can be sent direct to the recipient’s letterbox, taking away the hassle of them having to be home to sign for a parcel or finding the random safe place that the delivery driver has chosen. There are many different themes to choose from, making them the perfect gift for when you can’t gift your loved ones face to face.

The good thing is they don’t have to be for an occasion, they can just be a lovely gift for someone who needs cheering up during these difficult times.

Having looked at various letterbox gift sets online I’ve realised how easy it would be to make myself, adding a lovely personal touch for friends or family. So here are some ideas which I came up with.

New Baby Box – I would personally have loved one of these, especially anything rainbow svg themed. I would include the following:

  • A personalised baby hat
  • A personalised rainbow baby vest
  • A personalised wooden plaque
  • Baby booties
  • A baby memory photobook
  • A small box for storing baby’s hospital name tag

Self-Care Box- I love self-care items and this is something which I would give to my best friend.

  • Energising face mask
  • Foot soak pack
  • Lavender bath salts
  • Fluffy socks
  • Chocolate bar
  • Mindfulness journal
  • Crystal healing book

Kids Box- This one can be as creative as you like but I always visualise stars-svg quotes or prints when I think of what I would put in my daughter’s box as she loves anything space or stars related. I would also include:

  • 3 minute gratitude journal
  • Colouring pens
  • A charm bracelet
  • A hot chocolate sachet
  • Fruity lip balm
  • Chocolate buttons
  • A book

Sustainable Box- This is ideal for a friend or loved one who is passionate about being sustainable or for someone starting out on their sustainable journey.

  • Metal drinking straws
  • Collapsible reusable coffee cup
  • Bamboo cutlery set
  • Cruelty-free hand cream
  • Vegan chocolate bar
  • Shampoo bar

New Mum Box- This is probably my favourite creation, being a new mum myself. Every new mum deserves some pamper goodies.

  • Nursing oil bottle
  • Reusable breast pads
  • Eye cream
  • Herbal tea sachets
  • Lactation cookies
  • Face mask
  • Bath bomb

As you can see there are so many different options and letterbox gifts can be as affordable as you choose to make them. Obviously you could put together more luxury ones especially if it’s for a special occasion like your anniversary or for a wedding gift. I love the idea of someone spending time choosing items to put in a box for me, rather than a standard gift. It has so much more of a personal touch and there is so much thought that goes into these boxes. You could always somewhere like Moonpig for inspiration.

It is so easy to have items personalised online now, which is another popular trend, especially when it comes to baby items.
