Since having my baby I am constantly joking about ‘baby brain.’ However in all seriousness I have felt like my cognitive health needed a boost in some way. I have always been organised and I have a great memory, however this has changed a lot over the past year.
Cognitive health is essential to be able to function well and keep on top on everything from parenting, my studies and work.
What is cognitive health?
Cognitive health is the ability to clearly think, learn, and remember. There are 8 cognitive skills, Cognitive skills are the essential qualities your brain utilizes to think, learn, understand, justify, question, and pay close attention.
With this is mind I have been trying out Cognifuel Think Drink by nutrition and wellness brand Neubria. Cognifuel is an all-in-one natural energy drink with 22 vitamin and mineral blend, which aims to help combat fatigue and improve cognition.
Neubria was founded in the UK in 2018 by Jonny Kennedy, a former professional rugby player for my local team @salesharks.
After retiring from sport due to several concussions, Jonny noticed that there was a lack of trusted nutritional support for those interested in their physiological and cognitive health. After years of research, Neubria was born.
The ingredients are fantastic and include
ENERGY: Vitamins B3, B6, B12 and folate.
IMMUNITY: Vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Zinc, Copper and Selenium.
FOCUS: Bacopa.
COGNITION: Ashwagandha.
HYDRATION: Water contributes to the maintenance of normal physical and cognitive functions. Contains balanced electrolyte minerals, magnesium, sodium, and potassium.
DE-STRESS: Schizandra may increase a person’s ability to adapt to stress, and Ashwagandha contributes to the body’s resistance to stress.
Most importantly the Think Drink tastes great. I chose the Orange & Pineapple flavour, mixing 1 scoop with 400ml cold water. The drink is quite sweet so I think any less than 400ml of water would make it too sweet for me. It has a refreshing tropical taste without any artificial aftertaste which can be quite common with energy drinks. I definitely notice the difference in my energy levels and ability to focus after drinking this, which has helped my evening home workouts and studies.
Think Drink also comes in a Blueberry & Pomegranate flavour which I can imagine also tastes lovely.
