Some people think that they’re healthy, but are usually surprised to realise they are not as healthy as they think they are. Are you curious to know how healthy you are? Do you want some tips to work on becoming a healthier person? This guide is for you!

Get A Check Up

If you’re not sure how healthy you are at all, consider booking a check up and getting looked at. If you haven’t had a check up in a while, this step is definitely advised. Go to the doctor, dentists, opticiansanywhere you’ve neglected to go to get a good overall picture of your health. Even if you don’t feel like anything is wrong, professionals can spot problems well before they get worse. By getting checked out before you experience serious problems, you could be doing yourself a big favour. Prevention is always better than trying to find a cure.

Take Some Tests

There are some tests you can take too if you want to find out how healthy you are. You can take quick tests online to find out whether you’re happy or whether you could be experiencing problems due to your health. You also have fitness tests.  A blood test could be useful for certain people. Don’t put these off if you feel like you might have a problem.

Know What You Should And Shouldn’t Be Eating

If you have no real idea of what you should and shouldn’t be eating, then you’re not doing your body any favours. Many people have the misconception that if you’re going to be healthy, the only option is salad and plain foods that keep you hungry. This is totally false! You can be healthy without being hungry. In fact, healthy foods can be filling and delicious. You just need to know what to eat. It’s mainly natural foods and ingredients that allow you to make your own foods and healthy versions of your favourites.

One of my favourite foods to eat is ‘Proats’ this is basically oats with added protein. I make mine by adding dairy-free milk such as Koko milk or unsweetened almond milk to my oats and cooking it for 3 minutes in the microwave. I then add 1 scoop of flavoured protein powder and more milk, stir and microwave again for 30 seconds. Once cooked you can top with any fruit you like, frozen or fresh. You can even add a few squares of dark chocolate, or your favourite nut butter. This is a great way of getting in slow-releasing carbs, protein, healthy fats and some of your 5 a day from the fruit. This can be eaten as a breakfast or before bed if you train at night and want to replenish your carbs.

Get Regular Exercise

By getting regular exercise, you can usually have peace of mind that you’re keeping your body healthy. However, going to the gym and talking for an hour or slowly walking for 5 minutes doesn’t really count. Ideally you should challenge yourself and get a bit of a sweat on to really do the body good. Every little helps of course, but you should make sure you get a bit of intense exercise in there too.

Take Care Of Your Mind Too

Many people take care of their physical health but forget to take care of their mind too. Your mind is just as important as everything else. If you’re constantly forgetting things and thinking negatively, this is a bad sign. Take care of your mind by changing your outlook and the way you think. Fill your life and mind with positive things. Challenge it by learning new things and doing things you enjoy. It’ll still have a profound effect on your health!
